Vidrio Fruits
🍒 Runs the largest cherry grading project in Europe: a 48-lane Elifab line processing around 24,000 tons a year. Their record stands at zero product quality claims. Mat Exakta then packs the graded cherries into punnets, clamshells and buckets at high speed to match each customer's format. It's all part of how they deliver for the world's most demanding cherry markets.

Elbe Obst
🍏🍎 One of Germany's largest apple producers, faced a subtler version of the same problem: defects hiding in the blossom area, along with pressure marks and stem bowl cracks, easy to miss until a customer finds them first. Running two six-lane Elisam graders across close to 100 varieties, they now catch those defects consistently, and the added throughput helps them hit tight delivery windows even during peak demand.

When the labor just isn't there
Skilled labor is getting harder to find, and harder to keep.
Stourgarden
🧅A third-generation UK onion packhouse, used to need 16 people to run its grading line, and still couldn't keep pace when fusarium showed up in a crop. Today the line runs with six people, capacity has doubled to 200 tons a day, and the labor bill is down by roughly 40%. Customer complaints tied to internal defects have dropped sharply too, and the team can now switch size bands and specs for different retailers in a few clicks instead of a lengthy manual reset.

Rimon
🌴Took it a step further. Handling close to 12,000 tons of Medjool dates a season from over 100 growers in Israel, they've invested in three Elisam graders over the past nine years, each one pushing further toward full automation. Their newest line runs with automatic fillers. A breakthrough eliminating the need for human intervention in the sorting process. For a labor-challenged industry, it is nothing less than a game changer, and it's helped keep grading deviations to a minimum across an entire season.

Wilhelm Weyers
🥔A German potato and onion wholesaler based in Weeze, was the first in the potato world to grade on internal quality, not just what shows on the skin. Their Elisam machine uses light transmission technology to look straight through each potato, catching internal defects that used to mean cutting one open to find. In a bad season, hand-sorting would have needed eight to ten people on the line. Reliable workers are only getting harder to find, and the machine now does that job on its own.

When volume targets keep moving

African Blue
🫐Is aiming to double blueberry production within five years in Morocco. A 12-lane Elifab grader lets them process up to 4 tons an hour. It removes soft fruit and preserves bloom, adapting its settings as variety and season stage change. Mat Exakta fillers then let them switch between punnets, clamshells and buckets at speed to meet each customer's format. After a strong first year, African Blue has already ordered a second line to replace more manual sorting and grow capacity further.

Agrofrut Hellas
🍊🍋🍋🟩 One of Greece's largest citrus exporters, was facing an increasingly unstable seasonal labor market just as export customers demanded tighter consistency across varieties. Their Elisam grader now runs at over 40 tons per hour across oranges, lemons and limes, catching clear rot, scarring, punctures and stem defects without the grading accuracy dropping as volume climbs, even when labor availability is unpredictable.
